Description

Mid 19th century (pre-1853). 2-storey, basement and attic 4-bay flatted villa with classical details. Pink sandstone, ashlar front, coursed and squared rubble to rear and sides. Band course above basement and ground floor; eaves cornice and tall ashlar parapet; channelled ground floor; chamfered reveals to canted windows.

N (FRONT) ELEVATION: round-arched doorway accessed by steps to right of centre with pilastered and keystoned, projecting doorcase and entablature, panelled door and plate glass fanlight. Regular fenestration above and in bay to left of centre, at 1st floor with lugged architraves. 3-storey canted windows to outer bays with pierced parapets and canted dormers above. Later rectangular dormer.

E ELEVATION: gabled with windows to centre.

W ELEVATION: as above.

S (REAR) ELEVATION: 2 curved rubble stairs with decorative iron railings giving access to 1st floor doorways; windows flanking.

Mostly 4-pane timber sash and case windows. Slate roof; 2 gablehead stacks to E and W. Moulded gutterheads.

INTERIOR: not seen 1993.

Low wall to front, coped gatepier.
