Statement of Interest

This early 19th century former coaching inn is a significant addition to the streetscape on this main thoroughfare in Gourock. The retention of the former stables and outbuildings to the rear of the building adds to the interest and character of the building. The interior of the pub has undergone some alteration, but it retains a good quality, early 20th century timber U-plan bar counter and the stone spittoon around the base of the bar area is a rare survival.
