Description

Circa 1810. Late Georgian 2-storey villa within spacious grounds Stuccoed, painted and lined out as ashlar. 3 window symmetrical front with central door, set in fluted Roman doric columns, consoled ground floor windows. Upper windows modern shutters. Good arcaded parapet, probably added c 1850 enclosing piended slated roof with tall corniced end stacks. Rubble-built rear wing, irregular fenestration with 2 first floor gablet dormerhead windows. Garage wing to rear at north end.

Later 4-pane glazing.

Statement of Interest

Formerly Angus Lodge, a ducal property and possibly the house of James Henderson.
