Description

Early 19th century 2 storey classic villa, 3-bay ashlar
front, painted at ground floor, slightly advanced outer
bays with aproned ground floor windows in shallow
square-headed recesses and consoled door-piece with
pedimental blocking courses and cavetto splay. Cill
band at first floor, main cornice and blocking course.
Original glazing ground floor only. Flanks plain coursed
rubble with ashlar dressings. 2 window north east
elevation with door in painted corniced architrave.
Truncated centre stack. 3 window rear with original
glazing and central canted dormer. Piended slated roof.
Dwarf coursed garden wall with corniced painted
ashlar gatepiers.

Statement of Interest

Hamilton Windmill stood about the site until circa 1820.
