Early 19th century. 4-storey 3-bay tenement. Cream coursed rubble; modern shop with plate glass display windows below cornice at ground and narrow pend to right (Grahamslaw Close). Long and short ashlar margins; 3rd floor windows shorter, against eaves.
12-pane timber sash and case windows (6-pane to 3rd floor). Grey slates, rendered stack.
To rear, large 3-storey 8-bay rubble range of 2 building phases with stugged ashlar margins flanks Close to S.
The shop incorporates that at No 6, and is currently designed as one with it. The property shares a stack with No 10 High Street, which was originally a bakery, so the 2 properties may have been built at the same time. Part of a continuous group, It was formerly the Commercial Hotel.
