Description

Late 19th century. Carriage entrance with flanking pedestrian gates and screen walls. Channelled ashlar, square-section gatepiers with reduced top stage and moulded finial; flanking fielded panels with scrollwork coping and segmental-arched pedestrian entrances beyond; further, slightly smaller piers (detailed as above) to outer angles adjoining coped rubble quadrant walls. Decorative wrought-iron pedestrian and vehicular gates.

Statement of Interest

Known locally as the 'Golden Gates', this was the principal entrance to what is now Dunnikier House Hotel. The adjacent West Lodge is listed separately.
