18th century with alter alterations and additions. 2-storey, 3-bay near-symmetrical, rectangular-plan house with unsympathetic single storey piended modern addition to SW (principal) elevation; single storey, 2-bay lean-to garage addition to outer right and 2-bay gabled end to street, built on ground rising to SW. Harled.
SW (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: large window to centred modern addition; window in left return; glazed modern door in right return. Window at each floor in each bay flanking. Modern tilting garage door with window flanking to left in addition to outer right.
NE (HIGH STREET) ELEVATION: window at each floor in bay to right. Window at ground in bay to left. Gablehead stack.
2-pane timber sash and case windows; modern timber-framed window to piended addition; centred rooflight to SW pitch. Modern grey slate roof; red clay ridge; harled, corniced gablehead stacks to NE and SW; uPVC rainwater goods.
INTERIOR: not seen, 1998.
BOUNDARY WALLS: low, harled coped wall along SW boundary; square plan gatepiers to each end.
Standing at the westerly extreme of the largely 18th century development that is High Street, Number 30 is traditionally sited with its gabled end to the street. Despite various modern additions it retains its substantial harled stacks and basic plan form.
