Description

W and J Hay 1883. 13th century. Gothic. Nave and aisles
with tower and 138' spire at south. Snecked rubble with
droved ashlar dressings and quoins. 2 doors, with rose
above under central enriched pointed arch. Triple light
above with geometric tracery. Hoodmould and decorative
label stops. Gable head cross. Single lancet in east
elevation of north aisle. Square tower with lancets,
arrow slits and bar traceried louvred opening, with
splayed reveals to belfry. String course, rising over
louvres to pointed gable head, at base of spire and
decorated with gargoyles at angles. Broached, stone-spire
with buttressed pinnacles and lucarne on alternate faces
of facetted spire. Weathervane.
