Description

Earlier 19th century. 3-storey, 4-bay tenement with shop at ground. Cream sandstone rubble, squared and coursed to N elevation. Band course, raised margins to 1st and 2nd floor windows, lugged at 2nd floor.

N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: asymmetrical at ground, tripartite shop front with fanlit 2-leaf boarded doors to centre flanked by large shop windows (modern glazing), pend to outer right. Regular fenestration to 1st and 2nd floors.

S (REAR) ELEVATION: semi-circular stair tower housing turnpike stair abutted by modern addition.

12-pane sash and case windows to 1st floor; plate glass lower sashes, 6-pane upper to 2nd floor. Grey slate roof, modern rooflight off-centre right, ashlar coped skews, pointed skewblocks, corniced stacks to gables with tall moulded cans.
