Description

Late 18th century with later alterations. 3-storey, L-plan arrangement of 2 3-bay houses. Harled with modern bull-faced render to ground floor, rubble to rear, painted margins.

S ELEVATION (No1): Regency style timber pilastered porch to centre, panelled door, rectangular 2-pane fanlight, flanking quadrant sections in re-entrant angles with tiled roofs. Window centred above porch at 1st floor, bays flanking with windows at ground and 1st floors, window at 2nd floor to left and inset to right. 2-storey, single bay addition to left.

W ELEVATION (No 2): arranged similarly to No 1 but with 3-bay 2nd floor and stone mullioned bipartite to right. No 3 Hudson Square adjoining to right.

E ELEVATION (No 2): irregular fenestration with windows blocked at ground floor.

N ELEVATION (No 1): 4-bay irregularly fenestrated elevation to Panmure Street. 2 bays to right with windows centred at ground to 2nd floors, inner bay to left with small window at ground off-set and additional window at 2nd floor, bay to left with window off-set to left at 2nd floor. 2-storey, single bay addition to right.

12-pane timber sash and case windows. No 2 bay to right ; new frames and glazing at ground and 1st floors, plate glass at 2nd floor. No 1; new frames and glazing at 2nd floor to Panmure Street elevation. Grey slate pitched roofs, stone skews. Brick gablehead stacks to W and S, ridge stacks to NE.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.

BOUNDARY WALLS AND GATEPIERS: pair of square section, corniced and capped gatepiers to W, with wrought-iron lampholder across entrance. Rubble stone boundary walls to E and W and dwarf wall to S enclosing garden extending S.
