Description

Later 19th century, single storey H-plan school with square,
2-stage tower to NW corner; stugged rubble, ashlar dressings.
Gothic detailing.
Tower: tripartite to ground floor with pointed windows and
stepped hoodmould continued as string course; bipartite to
2nd stage with shaped gable breaking through corbelled
parapet; fishscale pyramidal roof and weathervane.
West elevation with entrance in re-entrant angles. Central
gable with triple pointed lights under pointed hoodmould with
arcaded fleche at crossing. Large window (modern glazing) under
pointed hoodmould to left wing with similar in north elevation
gable. Two 4 bay school room wings to rear (east) lit by
bipartites; corniced stacks; slate roof. Unfortunate modern
canopy links wings at west.
