Circa 1900 in appearance, built as UP manse. Architect not
identified but design compares with H E Clifford's
contemporary work in Glasgow (of which this is a more than
competent rendering) eg with its extensive use of mullioned
and transomed windows throughout on the front elevation and
its full-sized deep semi-polygonal bay with tall pointed
roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays, asymmetrical, ashlar front (rubble
flanks), spacious centre doorway under wide and open porch
which links tall left hand bay to projecting ground floor
window right, and with trellice at its eaves: original door
and original small-paned glazing throughout: deep projecting
eaves, decorative barge-boards on jerkined 1st floor window
right: slated roofs with finials, axial stacks, low and wide
attic dormer.
