Description

Early 19th century. Centre block 2-storey 3-window stuccoed
with lining out and 1st floor belt course, wooden doric
column porch, piend roof; set back 1-window wings with roofs
behind plain parapets. Square stair tower and later broad-eaved
addition to back. Simple distinctive interior work.

Statement of Interest

Blue and green glazed tiled commemorative plaque set into enclosing wall to street, inscribed "Birthplace of Sir Patrick Manson, GC, MG, MD, FRCP, DCS, LLD, FRS, 1844-1922, the father of tropical medicine".... erected by the London School of Tropical Medicine, founded by him in 1899.
