Description

Probably David Cousin, architect 1868. Renaissance. 3-storey
former bank with 4 bays to Gilmour Street, that at left
set back, recessed quadrant corner and 3 bays to Dyers
Wynd. Ashlar. Ground floor altered except left bay in
Gilmour Street where architraved door with consoled cornice
and 2 band courses over survives. 1st floor with continuous
cill course and balustrades under windows, except left end
bay in Gilmour Street. Lugged achitraved windows with
alternating segmental and triangular pediments with
carved tympana. 2nd floor windows with bracketted cills,
architraves and segmental heads set in slightly raised
panels. Entablature with modillioned cornice; corniced
stacks linked by balustrade to Dyers Wynd. Slate roof.
