Description

Circa 1860. 2-storey and attic, wide 3-bay house. Coursed dark rubble, contrasting tooled sandstone dressings and margins. Wide corniced entrance at centre; circa 1900 panelled door with narrow side lights and decoratively carved lintel on console brackets. Single 1st floor window in S return gable. 3 circa 1900 pedimented slate-hung wallhead dormers. 8-pane glazing in sash windows. Corniced and panelled stacks; slate roof; pottery ridge.

Built as one with 40-42 Church Street with which it is joined in a B Group. Appears on OS as no 36.
