Description

1843-4. E facing symmetrical 2-storey, 3-bay house. Mixed
rubble, tooled (and some painted) ashlar dressings and
margins. Centre door masked by projecting square single
storey porch with angle pilaster strips and corniced
wallhead: decorative glazing to rectangular fanlight; 2
flanking windows to ground floor, 3 to 1st. Slightly lower 2-
storey, 2-bay rear wing with doorway. 12-pane galzing. End
stacks; shallow piended slate roof.
GARDEN WALL: roughly coped rubble garden walls to rear and
side of house.

Statement of Interest

Steading and gig house (NJ 275 483) in poor condition sited

on slope above house not included in listing. Former manse

sited at Chapel Hill, site of medieval church with burial

ground, now overgrown.
