Old pier head, may incorporate a portion of the harbour works constructed by Robert Cunninghame in 1686. Includes the

Maritime Museum, late 18th century, 2 storey, 3 bay house,

rubble built with raised margins. Central door, sash windows.

Eaves course, simple cornice. End corniced stacks, slate

roof.

Rusticated and battlemented lookout bastion at end of pier.
