Earlier 19th century. Unusually intact survival of well-detailed single storey and attic, 3-bay, traditional end terrace cottage with fine bowed slate-hung dormers. Harled with painted margins and rusticated quoins.
SE (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: symmetrical. Panelled timber door with 2-part fanlight to centre, windows in flanking bays and dormer windows over outer bays flanking small cast-iron rooflight at centre.
NE ELEVATION: plain gabled elevation.
12-pane glazing pattern in replacement timber sash and case windows. Grey slates. Coped harled stacks with thackstanes and cans, some polygonal; ashlar-coped skews.
BOUNDARY WALLS: low flat-coped rubble walls with simple stone piers and rustic fence.
Carron Terrace, overlooking the Carron Water, boasts a number of fine little altered late 18th and early 19th century dwellings. This cottage adjoins some heavily altered examples where traditional character has been eroded.
