Description

House; early 19th century, 2-storey, wide 3-bay house;
tooled ashlar frontage with polished ashlar dressings,
rubble flanks and rear wing. Slightly advanced quoined outer
bays flank centre rusticated bay with keystoned round-headed
entrance; slightly recessed longer ground floor windows;
narrow blind side lights to outer 1st floor windows;
bracketed eaves cornice; 1st floor window in SW gable;
diminutive centre attic window in each gable; 2 piended
dormers; 3-pane glazing; corniced end stacks; slate roof.
Single storey 4-bay rubble wing to left with outer doors (1
blocked) and 2 windows; parapet wall masks roof.
Stables/Gighouse; early 19th century 2-storey rubble range
with NW elevation to Brabster Street. Near centre door
flanked by 2 wide slapped entrances. 3 loft windows;
small blocked pigeon flighthole in SW gable; 2 doors and 2
windows to SE garden front; roofed partially with corrugated
asbestos and partially with Caithness slate.
