Description

1718. Rebuilt 1729. Plain Georgian plan. Rubble. Gabled.
Skews. Slated roof. Belfry. Porch added c. 1930. Interior
gutted by fire 1955; restored 1959. BAILLIE OF POLKEMMET
BURIAL-PLACE: At exterior of E. arm. Square enclosure.
Dressed stone walls. Mural tablets. Head-stones.
2 additions in S.E. and S.W. angles single storeyed; flat
roofed, harled.

Statement of Interest

Ecclesiastical in use as such. Built by congregation as

Chapel of Ease Parish disjoined from Livingston 1731. Had

lofts and fore-stairs until c.1930.
