Description

Earlier 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay, rectangular-plan Regency style house. Pink sandstone rubble, repointed, originally harled; quoin strips; base course; projecting mutuled timber eaves.

W ELEVATION: door at centre; Ionic columned and corniced doorpiece; half-glazed door with plate glass fanlight; corniced windows flanking at ground. 3 windows symmetrically disposed at 1st floor, external wooden shutters. 2 square timber dormers grouped at centre. Single storey wing to outer right, lean-to timber conservatory.

4-pane plate glass timber sash and case windows. Piended slate roof, lead flashings; corniced wallhead stacks, circular cans.

ICEHOUSE: simple square-plan icehouse built into ditch to N of house. Rectangular opening with cement, plank-lined interior.

GATEPIERS: square-plan piers with pyramidal caps.

INTERIOR: hall with cast-iron balusters; plain cornices.
