Description

Later 18th century; later alterations. 3-storey and attic 4-bay tenement on corner site with shop and bar at ground flanking common stair door. Coursed rubble. Full width slate-hung box dormer. Return gable rebuilt and rendered at centre with small stack; small 2-storey single bay wing to N.

Timber sash and case 12-pane and plate glass windows. Grey slates.

INTERIOR: not seen 1995.

Statement of Interest

Listed at Category B despite the attic as as a surviving part of the original fabric of Edinburgh?s New Town, one of the most important and best preserved examples of urban planning in Britain.
