Description

Mid 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay, rectangular-plan villa. Rough harl with polished pink sandstone margins and dressings; base course; string course; quoin strips; advanced eaves, exposed rafters.

W (MAIN) ELEVATION: 3 near-symmetrical bays. Steps and platt to pilastered and pedimented door at centre; 4-panelled, 6-pane fanlight. Canted window to outer left, slightly-advanced, corniced window to outer right (6-pane sash and case window); windows symmetrically disposed at 1st floor.

S ELEVATION: gable with door at centre, window above.

E (REAR) ELEVATION: 4 asymmetrical bays, lean-to wooden porch over original rear door at penultimate bay to left.

4-pane timber sash and case windows; 12-lying-pane window; uPVC windows at 1st floor and rear. Grey slate roof; broad, corniced sandstone ridge stacks.

BOUNDARY WALL AND GATEPIERS: low whinstone rubble wall with harl-pointing, ashlar slab coping; ashlar piers with caps.
