Description

Leslie Grahame Thomson, 1936, as a home of rest. Symmetrical splay- planned block in Traditionalist/post- Lorimerian Classical style. White smooth-rendered with small-paned casements. Comprises flat-roofed low wings (in one of which is the main entrance) splayed out from behind centre 2-storey block which has steep-pitched tiled roof, upper windows cut through eaves; on (SW) garden front, balconied doorway in shaped centre gable at staircase half-landing; 1959 conservatory beneath (donated by Mr and Mrs James Allan); chimney stacks also post- Lorimerian. Plain and elegant interior with full-length corridors; staircase newel posts with sculptured tops.
