Description

Dated 1811 with later alterations. 2-storey, 3-bay rectangular-plan end of terrace house, with addition to rear. Squared and snecked whinstone with painted sandstone dressings; harled SW and rear elevations. Long and short quoins and margins to openings; eaves course.

SE (HIGH STREET) ELEVATION: modern panelled door to centre at ground with plate glass rectangular fanlight; datestone above; window at 1st floor. Window to each floor of flanking bays.

NW ELEVATION: not seen fully, 1995. Stair window at centre with single storey addition projecting from left of centre.

12-pane timber sash and case windows. Modern concrete tiled roof with harled coped wallhead stack to SW; coped ashlar skew to NE.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1995.

Statement of Interest

There is a building shown on the site in 1823, with similar additions to outer left of rear elevation. The building to NE has been much altered in recent years. No 11 was formerly harled and has also had many alterations in recent years, but most of these are reversible.
