Description

Earlier 19th with mid and late 19th century additions. 2-storey, 3-bay rectangular-plan manse. Droved squared and snecked sandstone rubble with ashlar margins and dressings. Base course, eaves cornice, quoin strips.

S (MAIN) ELEVATION: deep-set door at centre, narrow lintel, 6-panelled door with plate glass fanlight; window above. Square projecting bay at ground to left, tripartite window, half-piend slate roof, window above. Full-height canted bay to outer right, ashlar blocking course.

SIDE ELEVATION: rendered; late 19th century ashlar canted oriel to outer left, roll-moulded corbelling. Small window off-set to right in gablehead.

Plate glass and 4-pane timber sash and case windows; small-pane upper sashes to oriel. Graded Grey slate roof, lead flashings. Broad corniced apex stacks, octagonal cans.

BOUNDARY WALL: high rubble wall with slab coping surrounding the house.

The house is shown on the 1st edition map. It is lifted above the norm by the corbelled oriel.
