Later 19th century. 3-storey, 3-bay tenement with shop at ground. Ashlar with random rubble and ashlar quoins to rear. 2nd floor cill course.
N (HIGH STREET) ELEVATION: shop to right of centre at ground with door to right and display window to left, further door with flanking narrow lights in bay to left, deep timber fascia above; 1st floor with 3 windows below large letters 'STEWART BUILDINGS', 2nd floor with 3 dormerheaded windows breaking eaves.
S ELEVATION: lean-to extension to ground, 2 windows to 1st floor (that to right almost completely blinded) and to 2nd floor.
4-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows; plate glass glazing to ground N. Grey slates. Coped ashlar stack with cans to E and ashlar coped skews.
Listed in consideration of High Street position, and partnering early 19th century tenament to left (No 36-40 listed separately).
