Description

Late 19th century with 1996 addition. 3 bay symmetrical Continental style house with central 3 stage tower and advanced flanking 2 storey blocks. Cream rubble sandstone with ashlar dressings. Base course; dividing band course; cornice; further band course and dentilled eaves to tower.

W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: central doorway with flanking narrow side lights; panelled door; plate glass fanlight; heavily carved doorpiece incorporating carved classical heads; bracketed canopy above; bipartite window to 2nd stage above; single round arched 3rd stage window with pediment and bracketed balcony; French pavilion roof. Full height,

3 light canted window in bay to outer right; bipartite windows to both floors in bay to outer left with cast-iron window guard at 1st floor.

N (EAST SUFFOLK ROAD) ELEVATION: 3 bay original block; bipartite windows to both floors to advanced central bay; single windows to flanking bays; modern extension adjoining to E.

Plate glass timber sash and case windows. Grey slate piended and platformed roof; fish-scale banding to piended tower roof; coped and rendered ridge stacks.

INTERIOR: not seen 1996.

BOUNDARY WALLS AND GATEPIERS: low coped boundary wall to street; corniced gatepiers to East Suffolk Road.

Recently subdivided. Prominent entrance tower on corner site.
