Description

Mid 19th century. Single storey and attic, 3-bay house, single storey wing to rear and single storey block to side and extending to rear, asymmetrical plan. Squared, coursed and painted rubble stone to front, snecked rubble stone to sides and rear. Base course, eaves band, cornice and blocking course, plain margins.

SE (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: symmetrical, deep-set central entrance, convex jambs, rectangular 4-pane fanlight, bays flanking with windows at ground floor, canted and piended dormers above, additional flat roof dormer between. Piended single storey addition to left, stone mullioned bipartite to centre, door to right.

SW ELEVATION: gable end with single storey addition advanced, 3 windows in wall.

NE ELEVATION: gable end, windows to left and right.

NW ELEVATION: gable end of advanced wing to left, garage door. Doorway and window to right in main house, abutting outhouse and conservatory not included in listing. Gable end of single storey addition to right with door off-set to left.

Plate glass modern windows, replacement dark grey slate, SE, SW, NE. Stone skews, ashlar gablehead stacks.

BOUNDARY WALLS: painted rubble stone boundary walls to.

INTERIOR: not seen 1997.
