Description

Late 19th century. Single storey, 3-bay crowstepped cottage flanking Seagate Castle. Stugged cream sandstone, squared and snecked to sides and rear. Deep base course. Roll-moulded surrounds, moulded eaves course. Door to centre with modern door, 2 steps, and unusual, bowed, bracketed fanlight. Gabled bay to right with bipartite window and carved shield panel in gablehead. Bay to left with single window and round-arched dormerhead breaking eaves above with small shield crest in gablehead. Return gable to left canted.

Modern glazing. Graded grey slates, Velux rooflight. Coped ashlar stacks. Crowstepped gables with beak skewputts.

GATEPIERS: high, coped rubble wall with vehicular gate to left of house with corniced ashlar gatepiers.
