Description

Earlier 19th century, possibly incorporating earlier fabric, with later alterations. Symmetrical 2 storey, 3 bay house forming part of irregular terrace. Render pointed rubble; rendered margins; projecting cills at ground; chamfered cills at 1st floor.

SE (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: boarded timber door centred at ground; single windows at ground in flanking bays; small windows aligned above.

NW (REAR) ELEVATION: not seen 1997.

Lying-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows at ground; 6 pane timber casement windows at 1st floor; large modern rooflights. Grey slate roof; cast-iron rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen 1997.

PAVEMENT: cobbled path to front of house forming part of continuous stretch to front of terrace.

Statement of Interest

B Group with remaining houses in row (with the exception of Poltarie). Sympathetically refurbished, this 2-storey, symmetrical cottage plays a significant role within this irregular terrace. A picturesque group of buildings, The Row stands at the centre of Longformacus village, overlooking the Dye Water.
