Description

1809, restored circa 1995. 3-storey with basement and attic, 5x4-bay, classical terraced corner tenement. Sandstone ashlar, rusticated at ground; rock faced basement; Base course, impost cornice course at ground, projecting cills at ground, band course between ground and 1st floors, moulded architraves and cornices to 1st floor windows at principal elevation, cill band at 1st and 2nd floors with projecting cills to 1st floor in E elevation, corniced eaves and blocking course, ashlar steps and entrance platts oversailing basement.

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: timber panelled door in pilastered entrance with round-arched radial fanlight to centre, windows in round-arched recesses to remaining bays, regular fenestration above, 2 piended and shallowly canted tripartite dormers above.

E (EAST BROUGHTON PLACE) ELEVATION: full-height bowed bay to left, Serlian windows with balustraded aprons at each floor with Ionic capitals at 1st floor. Timber panelled door in pilastered entrance with round-arched radial fanlight to centre, windows to each floor above; small windows at each floor in 3rd bay, windows in each bay to right with ground and 1st floor blinded for symmetry, canted bipartite dormer above.

Timber sash and case windows with 12-pane glazing, grey slates, stacks with terracotta cans, arrowhead cast-iron railings.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.
