Description

Later to late 19th century. Single storey, 3-bay symmetrical rectangular-plan cottage with flat-roofed timber toilet addition to N gable; various ancillary buildings, (derelict) sited at right angles to rear (W). Random rubble.

E (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: deep-set boarded door in bay to centre. Window in each bay flanking.

W (REAR) ELEVATION: blank.

S (SIDE) ELEVATION: window set to right; gablehead stack above.

N (SIDE) ELEVATION: blank.

4-pane timber sash and case windows. Turf roof; corniced, rubble gablehead stacks; uPVC rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen, 1998.

Statement of Interest

A cottage distinctive for the survival of its traditional turf roof as well as for its substantial gablehead stacks.
