Description

Graveyard to Tarbolton Parish Church. Predominantly headstone graves; several column memorials; some gravestones now as wall monuments. Predominantly dated from 19th century, although some stones of earlier date.

GATEPIERS, GATES, RAILINGS AND BOUNDARY WALL: square-plan corniced gatepiers to central pedestrian entrance to church and graveyard entrance to right; 2-leaf iron gates; railings atop boundary wall in part and enclose some gravestones; plain boundary wall to remainder of area enclosing site.

See separate list description for church. The Tarbolton Heritors Minute Book, 1819-1823 (SRO) shows discussions (21/2/1820) on, "[...] the best situation for the new Church."
