Description

18th century, altered and extended to rear. Single storey, 3-bay cottage on corner site. Steeply-pitched piended roof with ridge stack. Random rubble with large droved sandstone quoins.

W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: symmetrical. Deep-set timber door to centre with windows in flanking bays.

S ELEVATION: window to right, with extension to outer right.

N ELEVATION: window to left (altered), extension beyond to left.

4-pane and plate glass glazing patterns in timber sash and case windows to W and S. Clay pantiles. Rubble stacks with cans.

BOUNDARY WALL: semicircular-coped rubble boundary wall.

Statement of Interest

The owner thinks Corner Cottage may date back to the 1730s. Listed despite extension for interest of early, traditional fabric and position in this small hamlet.
