Description

Late 18th to early 19th century, extended later 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay farmhouse with single storey wing. Harled with stone margins and ashlar quoin strips. Base course. Round-headed voussoired door; chamfered arrises and stone mullions.

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: advanced finialled centre bay with bipartite window to each floor, panelled timber door with plate glass semicircular fanlight to outer left of left return, and window to centre at each floor of right return; canted window to ground floor with single window above and skewputt carved 'ML' to outer right bay; further window to each floor and skewputt carved 'GE' in bay to left; single storey wing to outer left with window in bay to right and window slapping to left.

E ELEVATION: gabled elevation with windows to left bay at ground and to right at 1st floor.

W ELEVATION: piended single storey wing projecting at ground, and small window to left of centre at 1st floor.

N (REAR) ELEVATION: asymmetrical elevation with variety of elements including tall round stair tower in bay to left, and slated lean-to bay to right.

12-pane and plate glass glazing patterns in timber sash and case windows. Grey slates. Coped harled gablehead stacks with thackstanes and cavetto-coped shouldered wallhead stack, some cans. Ashlar-coped skews and moulded skewputts.

INTERIOR: decorative plasterwork cornice and black marble fireplace to principal ground floor room. Timber 2nd staircase with cast-iron balusters.

WALLED GARDEN: rubble walled garden with ashlar quoins to pedestrian entrance with studded timber door.
