Description

Early 19th century. Single storey and attic cottage. Rubble. Eaves course; painted strip margins; painted surrounds to openings at ground floor.

SE (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: central square-headed entrance; timber door; narrow letterbox fanlight; flanking single windows; canted dormers to outer right and left at attic.

NE AND SW ELEVATIONS: gabled.

NW ELEVATION: not seen 1999.

Plate glass, 4- and 12-pane timber sash and case windows. Slate roof; stone skews; rebuilt coped gablehead stacks; circular cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1999.

Statement of Interest

A good example of early 19th century cottage architecture in the predominantly later to late 19th century Alloway village.
