Description

Mid 19th century. 2-storey, 3-bay classical pedimented former church hall. Painted ashlar to entrance elevation. Cornice to shop fascia; corniced pediment; architraved surrounds to 1st floor windows.

SE (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: deeply recessed entrance to left and re-entrant angle to shop; timber glazed doors to both; shop windows to right; regular fenestration at 1st floor; sunken architraved panel to pediment.

Shop windows at ground floor; 4-pane timber sash and case windows at 1st floor. Grey slate roof; low apex stack to pediment.

INTERIOR: not seen 1998.

Statement of Interest

Former Catholic Apostolic church hall, as indicated in the Ayr and District Directory (1926-7). The building is notable for its pediment and architraved window detailing.
