Adjacent to and contemporary with the former village school, itself built in 1873 and closed in 1972 - see separate list entry, 'Paxton, The Old School'. The round-arched windows, bracketed cills and overhanging eaves are similar to those found on the nearby Thorn Cottage - itself once the village school and now a private residence (see separate list entry, 'Paxton, Thorn Cottage').
