Statement of Interest

A-Group with Cammo House, Bridge, Quadrant Walls, Boundary Walls, Rubble Bridge, Stable Block, Walled Garden and Water Tower. This is a very unusual feature in the landscape. Although the knoll may appear artificial, a characteristic that is intensified by the surrounding wall, it is believed to be a glacial feature. The surrounding wall was erected by Sir John Clerk and appears on his landscape sketch. Sir John Clerk made extensive designs for the Cammo Estate including: parterres, a walled garden, orchards, formal avenues and a Portugal garden There was also a sundial in the grounds but this is now in the possession of the National Trust for Scotland.
