Description

Ornate lamp and standard; painted green and gilded. Fluted shaft; cross-bat with foliate brackets resting on acanthus leaves; glass lantern with Queensferry Arms painted on all 4 faces; surmounted by cast-iron crown with painted details.

Statement of Interest

Marks the residence of Provost John Milne, who was the last Provost of Queensferry. Prior to the 1975 Local Government (Scotland) Act both Lord Provosts and Baillies were entitled to 2 official standard lamps outside their residences.
