Description

Dated 1890. 2-storey and attic, 2-bay, square-plan terraced Jacobean tenement with shops at ground. Yellow ashlar sandstone, cavetto moulded dividing band between ground and 2nd floor and to eaves course cornice, rolled moulded reveals and projected cornice to windows, stone mullions.

NE ( PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: modern shop front to ground; 1st floor, bipartite window to bay to left; chamfered pilaster to far left; gabled bay to right with coped parapet block skewputts and obelisk finials, canted 4-light window to right, corbelled with panelled parapet; bipartite window to gablehead, inscribed JBL 1890 at apex; bipartite flat roofed dormer to left. Panelled pilaster framing 1st floor to left.

SW (REAR) ELEVATION: not seen 2000.

SE (SIDE) ELEVATION: adjoining building.

NW (SIDE) ELEVATION: adjoining building.

Timber sash and case windows predominantly 4-pane upper sash and plate glass lower; grey slate roof, coped sandstone chimney stacks, cast-iron rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: modern shop fittings to ground, residential storey not seen 2000.
