Description

Thomas Telford, circa 1840. 2-storey, 2-bay, rectangular-plan, terraced gabled house. Harled, coursed Caithness stone slabs. Long and short quoins to E, projecting margins to openings, regular fenestration, irregular to rear.

N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: door to left, scalloped and scrolled pediment to door and ground floor window. Modern canted dormer to right.

INTERIOR: not seen 2001.

Plate glass tilt-and-turn windows. Grey slates, cast-iron rainwater goods.

The Group listing is in recognition of the exceptional group value of these buildings as the core of Thomas Telford's 1809 scheme for the new town plan of Pulteneytown for the British Fisheries Society.
