Description

Later to late 19th century. Single storey and attic, asymmetrical 3-bay cottage with steeply-pitched pedimented doorway closing short terrace to SW. Squared and snecked rubble with ashlar dressings. Stop-chamfered arrises.

SE (BURRELL STREET) ELEVATION: slightly advanced porch off-centre left with basket-arched doorway, part-glazed timber door and plate glass fanlight, narrow light in pediment breaking eaves above; full-height shouldered chimney breast immediately to left with single window to outer left bay; bipartite window in bay to right and canted tripartite dormers over outer bays.

NE (CARRINGTON TERRACE) ELEVATION: blank elevation with broad gablehead stack.

Modern glazing. Graded grey slates. Coped ashlar stacks with some polygonal cans; ashlar-coped skews with moulded skewputts.

BOUNDARY WALLS: semicircular-coped rubble boundary walls.

Statement of Interest

No 41 forms an unusual terrace of 2 cottages (with Nos 43 and 45, both listed separately) flanking a pavilion-roofed villa.
