Description

Dated 1892. 2-storey, 2-bay (above ground) gabled end of terrace house with pedimented windowheads, on ground falling to S. Narrow rock-faced bands with ashlar dressings. Base, 1st floor cill and eaves courses. Round- and segmental-arched openings. Roll-moulded doorway. Hoodmould with label stops; stop-chamfered arrises and stone transoms and mullions.

W (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: hoodmoulded round-headed doorway with steps up to deep-set 2-leaf panelled timber door in bay to left of centre, 2 closely-aligned single transomed windows beyond to left and similar window to right, further door to outer right with 2 small segmental-headed fanlights. Bay to left at 1st floor with canted 4-light corbelled oriel window with blocking course incorporating small pediment breaking into gablehead with arrowslit and ball finial; bay to right with single window breaking eaves into ball-finialled windowhead with dated tympanum.

N ELEVATION: variety of elements to asymmetrical elevation including gabled bay to right of centre with small pedimented window to outer right at 1st floor.

Plate glass glazing pattern in timber sash and case window to ground right W and to N, leaded coloured glazing to lights over square-headed door, and modern windows. Grey slates. Cavetto-coped ashlar stacks with some cans, stepped ashlar-coped skews with moulded skewputts, and square-section cast-iron downpipes with decorative fixings.

INTERIOR: plain cornicing; timber dog-leg staircase with decorative balusters. Timber fireplaces with tile slips, that to 1st floor in Art-Deco style.
