Description

J M Arthur, 1922. Severe classical monolith, square-plan column on broad plinth. Grey granite with inlaid metal text to plinth and sword and wreath device to column. Chamfered corner blocks to plinth dated 1939, 1945 and 1914, 1918 to alternate sides, roll of honour to sides of plinth, top of plinth 'IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THE TOWN OF AIRDRIE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR'.
