Late 19th to early 20th century. 3-storey, 3-bay (above ground) small tenement with shops at ground, closing irregular terrace to W. Sandstone ashlar, rendered to side and random rubble to rear. Base course, ground floor frieze and cornice, 2nd floor cill, band and eaves courses. Corniced, segmental-headed windows with raised margins to 1st floor N.
N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: shop to left at ground with 6-panelled timber door, 2-part panelled fanlight and flanking narrow cast-iron columns, blocked display window to left and pilaster beyond. Shop to right mirrors the above but fanlight not blocked. Regular fenestration to 1st and 2nd floors, centre window at 1st floor with decorative consoles.
E ELEVATION: asymmetrically-fenestrated elevation with gabled bay to right.
S (REAR) ELEVATION: blank.
Some plate glass glazing in timber sash and case windows. Grey slates. Ashlar stacks (truncated) and ashlar-coped skews with beak skewputts.
A well-detailed tenement fronting a civic space.
