Description

Possibly David Bryce, early 19th century, later alterations to rear. Single storey, 2-bay lodge house with jerkinhead roofs. Large ashlar blocks. Base course. Round-headed door. Drip-moulds; chamfered reveals; moulded stone transoms and mullions.

SW (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: bay to left with stone porch, boarded timber door under broken pediment in jerkinhead; slightly advanced bay to right with tall canted tripartite under polygonal stone roof.

SE (MAIN ROAD) ELEVATION: projecting bay to left with shallow rectangular-plan, 6-light, transomed window, moulded cill course and slated roof giving way to broken pediment and jerkinhead; recessed bay to right with transomed window. Eaves with plain bargeboarding.

NW ELEVATION: 4-light transomed window under heavy pentice canopy and jerkinhead; later flat-roof porch projecting at outer left.

NE ELEVATION: 4-light transomed window to left, flat-roofed extension to right. Decoratively-astragalled windows throughout, except to extension. Grey slates. Grouped polygonal ashlar ridge stacks with base and band courses. Deeply overhanging

GATEPIERS: 4 square-section, pyramidally-coped ashlar gatepiers with chamfered arrises; low quadrant walls with inset railings.
