Description

Probably earlier 20th century. Single storey, 2-bay, piend-roofed former dairy with raised rectangular-plan louvered air vent, sited to N of Milton of Edinglassie farm. Harl with ashlar margins and quoin strips. Round headed doorways.

FURTHER DESCRIPTION: symmetrical S elevation with 2 boarded timber doors and decoratively-astragalled fanlights. Single window to E and W elevations.

15-pane glazing pattern in top-hopper windows. Grey slates. Coped ashlar stacks. Deeply overhanging eaves with exposed rafters and plain bargeboarding. Cast iron rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: retaining stone shelving with drainage channels beneath.

Statement of Interest

An interesting late example of a well-detailed small dairy associated with the Edinglassie Estate, sited at the mouth of Glen Ernan. No longer in use as a dairy.
