History

Early to mid C19 (on ca. 1845 Tithe Map)

Exterior

Group of simple classical 2-storey scribed render fronts, except No 12 which is pebbledash; rusticated quoins, end pilaster strips, cill bands and plinths. Asymmetrical front to Nos 8, 9 and 10, 2 2-windows to No 8, 2 1-windows to Nos 9 and 10, 3-window fronts to Nos 11 to 14. Slate roofs, wide boarded eaves, 8 cement render chimney stacks. 12-pane sash windows to Nos 10, 12 and 13, 4-pane sashes to Nos 9, 11 and 14; various sash windows to No 8 with 1 splayed bay window to right; later 2-pane sash to ground floor of No 10. Lugged architraves and ornamental keystones to all windows except to Nos 8, 9 and 10 which have no keystones and No 13 which has voussoir lintels. Arched entrances with keystones except No 13, panelled architraves to Nos 8, 11, 12 and 14. Recessed doors, panelled with intersecting ribbed fanlight to No 8, half-glazed with 6-pane fanlight to No 9, 4-panel, with 5-pane fanlight to No 10, 3-panel with 7-pane fanlight to No 11, boarded with 2-pane fanlight to No 12, 8-panel with 5-pane fanlight to No 13 (also with scribed reveals), 6-panel with 5-panel fanlight to No 14. Further 4-panel door with fanlight to right of bay window to No 8 and beyond a boarded door with panelled architrave and ornamental keystone; irregularly curved arch to lane to right.
